Jennifer Morrison - Biography & Career
Morrison was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She graduated from Prospect High School in 1997, where she played clarinet in the school’s marching band, sang in the choir and did cheerleading with the school’s pep squad. She majored in theatre at Loyola University in Chicago, and studied acting with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television.
Morrison started her career as a child, appearing in print ads for JCPenney and Montgomery Ward and commercials for Rice Krispies and Mondos. At the age of ten, she was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids with athlete Michael Jordan. She made her film debut at the age of fifteen as the daughter of Richard Gere and Sharon Stone in Intersection, and later appeared as the haunting Samantha in Stir of Echoes with Kevin Bacon. Her first leading role came in the 2000 film Urban Legends: Final Cut, and she has since gone on to appear in films including Grind with Adam Brody, Surviving Christmas with Ben Affleck and James Gandolfini and Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. On television, she worked on several hit shows including Touched by an Angel and Dawson's Creek before landing the role of immunologist Allison Cameron on House. In 2005, she starred in and produced the independent film Flourish, also featuring her House co-star Jesse Spencer. Morrison has also appeared in music videos for Nick Lachey ("Shut Up") and The Donnas ("Too Bad About Your Girl").
Morrison is the oldest of three children born to David and Judy Morrison. She currently lives with sister Julie in Los Angeles, while brother Daniel resides in Illinois. She has been romantically linked to Jesse Spencer, although neither will confirm nor deny the rumours. It has been reported that they officially came out as a couple in public in 2006, at an Emmy Awards afterparty, but no official information has been released by either actor. Their relationship has also been publicly discussed by House co-star Lisa Edelstein.
