Janna Svensson - Biography & Career
Born in hockey-mad Malmo, Sweden on May 10, Janna Svensson was a self-confessed wild girl growing up. She somehow always managed to get into trouble, so perhaps her present career is a natural extension of her former mischievous ways. The tall, awkward teenager, who had an interest in nursing, blossomed into a virtual goddess and while employed at a local bakery, was discovered by a talent scout who knew upon first glance what side Svensson's bread was buttered on.
Soon thereafter, Svensson tossed aside the rolling pin and flour in favor of a swimsuit and a pair of heels. Her ascent to the top in Sweden was swift and without the benefit of pageant competition.
Janna Svensson became a favorite model of Sweden's men's magazine Slitz, and was featured in GQ (Italy), Imagine (Sweden), Hennes (Sweden), and a Baywatch Summer Tour in her native land in 1998. In addition, Svenson has accumulated some modest television work to her resume.
In the future, her mission is to branch out beyond Scandinavia, as the scene is difficult for an upstart model, both in terms of money and opportunity. So far Svensson has had some exposure in the United States. She was a spokesmodel for TAKI casuals merchandise at the Sundance Film Festival and made an appearance at the Glamourcon convention in Los Angeles in 2001.
