Emma Harrison - Biography & Career
Emma Harrison is a fashion model and actress. She was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and raised in Australia.
Harrison started modelling at the age of 15, when she was spotted in the audience of a beauty contest and was signed by a local modelling agency. She started her television career with commercials, including Palmolive and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
After she was signed, she spent the next two years working with Impulse and Coca-Cola. She also served as a feature model for many hair and beauty lines. Harrison also appeared in many pop culture magazines, eventually making appearances for many designers, including Donna Karan.
Harrison was discovered by the casting director of the popular TV series "Neighbours" and the team behind the show decided to write her into the program as part of the starring cast. In her part as Joanna Hartman she was nominated for Best New Talent at the Logie Awards.
Emma travelled to England where she was already known, thanks to Neighbours. While in the UK, she hosted two television programmes, appeared on the covers of many magazines such as FHM, Loaded, Maxim, and Inside Sport and was selected as a presenter for the BAFTA Awards.
She has appeared in commercials for Budweiser, Taco Bell, Subway, ABC Sports and TNT and has had appearances on "Ally McBeal" and "Just Shoot Me".
Harrison has had two roles in her brief feature film career. She was in the Coen Brothers' "Intolerable Cruelty" (seen briefly as 'Santa Fe Tart #6') and an extra in Robert Altman's "The Company" (as a waitress).
In January 2004 Emma appeared in eight installments of E!'s Style Network's "Style Court".
Emma also appeared in Australia Playboy as well as a special for Playboy TV in the UK. This was an attempt to shred her good-girl image from Neighbours.
